Cold Creek Compost

•   Agricultural Materials, including from livestock operations

•   Food Materials

o All fruits and vegetables (including peelings, pits, and shells)

o Bread, grains, pasta, and rice

o Coffee grounds and tea leaves

o Dairy products

o Eggshells and eggs

o Food leftovers and spoiled food (packaging removed)

o Meat including bones

o Seafood including shellfish and shells

•   Green Materials

o All  plant  debris   and  landscape   prunings   including  flowers, leaves, and weeds

o Tree trimmings including branches, stumps, and trunks (make sure lid closes completely)

•   Soiled Paper Products

o Greasy pizza boxes and paper bags

o Paper coffee filters and tea bags

o Paper napkins and paper towels

o Paper plates (non-coated)

o Paper take-out boxes and containers (non-coated)

•   Other Materials

o Cooking grease: small amounts soaked up with a paper towel

o Cotton balls and cotton swaps with paper stems

o Hair (non-synthetic/non-colored)

o Sheet rock

o Wood ashes (cold)

o Wood chips

o Wood materials: small pieces of clean wood/sawdust (no plywood/painted/stained/treated wood)

o Wooden chopsticks, coffee stirrers, and toothpicks

Materials NOT Accepted At Cold Creek Compost

•   Aluminum foil or trays

•   Biodegradable or compostable plastic

•   Carpet

•   Ceramic dishware or glassware

•   Concrete or rocks

•   Diapers

•   Flower pots or trays

•   Foil-backed or plastic-backed plastic

•   Garbage

•   Glass

•   Household hazardous waste

•   Insulation

•   Medical waste including needles and sharps

•   Metal

•   Plastic products including bags, bottles, containers, and wrap

•   Recyclables

•   Styrofoam

•   Wood – plywood, press board, painted, stained, or treated wood
