PG&E ANNOUNCES POTENTIAL PSPS EVENT FOR MENDOCINO COUNTY
UPDATE: October 8 @ 3:40p.m. - PG&E is reporting at this time that Willits, Ukiah and Fort Bragg will not lose power within the city limits, but outlying areas may experience power outages. A PG&E community resource center will opeining in Ukiah at 1775 N. State St. This information is subject to change at any time due to weather conditions.
UPDATE: October 7 - PG&E is advising residents to be prepared for the potential of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event beginning Wednesday morning, October 9th and extending through Thursday, October 10th. PG&E has stated they will notify affect customers today and that this is just an advisory warning of a potential event. At this time the City of Willits has no confirmation of the extent of the outages or if it will affect our residents. We have been informed that the PSPS will affect approximately 6,000 residents in all of Mendocino County due to high temperatures, strong winds, and low humidity. Additionally, although the weather event is not expected to extend beyond Thursday afternoon, PG&E is advising customers to prepare for outages that may last up to five days. The City of Willits is monitoring the situation and will notify the community immediately of any updates to this PSPS.
