Declaration of Local Emergency and Opening of the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC)The City of Willits proclaimed the issuance of a local state of emergency on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in an effort to continue to respond against the potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The declaration provides a valuable opportunity to the City to mobilize resources, accelerate emergency planning, streamline staffing, facilitate inter-agency coordination, and allow for potential future reimbursement by the state and federal governments. The City will also open its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at its lowest level. The EOC is not open to the public, but enables the City to coordinate information and responses through our dispatch center. City facilities and departments are closed with the exception of very limited hours at City Hall for essential services. We encourage people to use our website and dropbox, as well as the U.S. Mail to make payments and to access services. https://cityofwillits.org/ (707) 459-4601The City of Willits strongly advises that all community members follow the orders and directives of Mendocino County’s Public Health Officer.
