Functions

Departmental functions include:

  • Coordination of economic development activities
  • Franchise administration activities
  • Implementation of ordinances and policies
  • Interaction with and response to media inquiries
  • Interface with other local governments, regulatory agencies, and state and federal agencies
  • Long range planning
  • Maintenance of relationship with legislative and congressional representatives
  • Management and coordination of all City policies, programs, and services
  • Management and coordination of City fiscal and human resources
  • Management of City facilities
  • Management of leases, agreements, etc.
  • Negotiation and management of contracts
  • Presentations to community groups
  • Public and agency notices as required
  • Response to citizen and community complaints
  • Revenue development, budgets and expenditure control
  • Review of correspondence received, and preparation/review of correspondence sent
  • Risk management and insurance
  • Staff support to various JPA's and other intergovernmental agencies
  • Other assignments established by City Council
