Functions
Departmental functions include:
- Coordination of economic development activities
- Franchise administration activities
- Implementation of ordinances and policies
- Interaction with and response to media inquiries
- Interface with other local governments, regulatory agencies, and state and federal agencies
- Long range planning
- Maintenance of relationship with legislative and congressional representatives
- Management and coordination of all City policies, programs, and services
- Management and coordination of City fiscal and human resources
- Management of City facilities
- Management of leases, agreements, etc.
- Negotiation and management of contracts
- Presentations to community groups
- Public and agency notices as required
- Response to citizen and community complaints
- Revenue development, budgets and expenditure control
- Review of correspondence received, and preparation/review of correspondence sent
- Risk management and insurance
- Staff support to various JPA's and other intergovernmental agencies
- Other assignments established by City Council
